This space station was at first intended to be a StarTrek station...but then i am not a Trek fan anymore, so let's pretend it was never intended to be a Trek station, okay ?
It was my first serious work with painted dirt maps, you know, basically you render a view of your object, crop it in photoshop, paint some dirt on a layer, and save it as a black and white map you can use as a mask in a material blend... |
Same scene, different camera view .... I did that model something like 6 months ago, heh doesn't seem too far, but for me it's already very far...ah well... |

Ah, now this is what i call an old scene, i did it 2 years ago, with 3dsmax 2 i recall...I found it a few days ago and decided to upgrade it a bit, i did a new lighting setup and arrange some materials a bit... Oh yeah, i know ( Thanx Jose..:) ), the horizon line is too straight...oh well i'm a lazy bastard so you guys will have to do with it ! |
I'm proud of this one, it's a new one....my first serious ( did u notice i use the word "serious" a lot ?) attempt at character modeling...ok, robot modeling... the trick was to get some good reflection maps and all...and it worked.
I also tried to setup the bones and all, but heh since then i got distracted because i discovered i could model a 3D human pretty easily ( yeah i'm good, baby.. ), so the bones will happen later... |

Same scene, different camera view and lens...hey, did u notice the dark/bright pattern on the robot dude, that's the projection of a map through the light, quite efficient :)... |
